After my application to the DiscoverMore2015 challenge by Harley-Davidson, I made an alternative plan when I wasn't selected for this run. It was not a detailed plan, but normally I have several great rides front of me for the year to come.
Now at the end of 2015 I oversee my rides and see that besides my normal rides through Europe I also did a great ride to Eastern Europe.
I started with an Iron Butt ride to Romania to end my 1800 km ride in Timisoara. See my story HERE.
The next day I visited five beautiful countries, started with crossing the border with Servia, then a visit to Zagreb as the capital city of Croatia. Then the beautiful Slovenia and with Ljubljana as their capital, and the fantastic roads, forests and mountains. Via Udine in Italia I rode to passo del Tonale, then did the Gavia pass (a wonderful road) and did the Stelvio. During the Stelvio I had some rain making it a bid harder to ride the corners.
In Swiss I encountered a beautiful pas, the Flüelapass, before I did a short visit in Davos. In Basel I crossed the border with Germany and France and passing the Rhein several times. Via Park the Vosges I rode back home.
I completed the Iron Butt in 22 hours, started near Amsterdam at 13.00 and ended in Timisoara around 11 o’clock in the morning the next day. The ride back home I did in three days, riding riding riding and of course enjoying the beautiful country spheres.
I made a video film, with a couple of highlights of rides I did with my Harley's, and put it online on Youtube en send a mail to Harley-Davidson.
And yes I received the confirmation mail from Harley. This was my application for the DiscoverMore2015 job.
